Creating constants

A constant is a number that you may use often. It can be represented by a name and saved. Two built-in constants are pi and i. You use these in any expressions. Constants can also be used in functions that you define.

To create your own constants, display the keyboard, press the Constants button, select the User section and then select new. A popover window appears where you type the name of your constant, its value and a description of it. Select keep for next time to make the constant available next time you open formula calculator.

To delete a saved constant, display the keyboard, press the Constants button, select the User section and then select the name of your constant. A popover window appears where you select delete to delete the constant.

You can use any name for a constant, consisting of alphanumeric characters. But the name must be unique and cannot begin with a number. Note that formula calculator distinguishes between lower and upper case letters.
